How do I access my course evaluations?

You can access your course feedback forms through any of these options:

  • in Canvas, you will see a pop-up notification on your Canvas dashboard page any time you log into Canvas during the evaluation period (there is an option to skip your evaluations in the pop-up notification).
  • access your evaluations through this direct link: http://course-evaluations.stanford.edu.
  • in Axess > My Academics > Course and Section Evaluations > Link to the system near the top of the page.

Why don't I see my course?

There are some courses that are excluded from the end-term feedback (primarily Activity, Individual Study, and Internship courses). Courses must also have at least three students enrolled. If a course you are taking is not listed, check with your instructor to see if they are offering an alternative feedback form.

Why do I see my course listed more than once?

There are separate forms for the Course feedback and the Section/TA feedback, so you will see them listed separately on your list of available evaluations.

How does Section/TA feedback work?

The end-term Section feedback form is designed so that you are able to provide specific, individual feedback to any/all TAs, CAs, or Fellows for the course. This is different from the Course feedback form which does not include instructor-specific questions.

When you access the end-term Section feedback form, you are given a list of all of the TAs, CAs, or Fellows in the course and are able to select anyone you interacted with during the term. If you choose more than one person, each question on the feedback form is repeated for those selected with their name appearing in the question prompt. This allows you to provide specific feedback to each person.

The Section feedback does not rely on which section you are enrolled in, in either Canvas or Axess. All students enrolled in the course, including across any/all cross-listed courses, are combined in the evaluation system, regardless of your section enrollment.

You should only select TAs, CAs, or Teaching Fellows with whom you have interacted during the term.

I submitted a course evaluation but need to change my responses (submitted for the wrong course, have additional feedback to include, etc.), can I access it again?

Yes, as long as grades have not been submitted and the evaluation period is still open, the course evaluation team can re-open your course evaluation. Contact the team at course-evaluations@stanford.edu and let us know which course and/or section evaluation needs to be re-opened.

Why do I have a grade hold and when will it be released?

Grade holds are put in place when the evaluation period opens. Once you complete all of your course evaluations, your grade hold is released within an hour of your last submission. If you do not complete all of your course evaluations, your grade hold is released the morning after the evaluation period ends. If you have any questions or issues with your grade hold, please email the course evaluation team at course-evaluations@stanford.edu.

Can I see results from the course evaluations?

Yes, students are able to see the results from the standard quantitative questions as well as responses to the “What would you like to say about this course to a student who is considering taking it in the future?” question directly in the course evaluation system (http://course-evaluations.stanford.edu). Once logged in, click the Student Reporting link in the upper left corner of the page. You can then search for courses or instructors and download a PDF with the results. Results are released to the Student Reporting portal approximately one month after the evaluation period ends. For a list of dates related to end-term course evaluations, including when Student Reporting results are made available, please refer to our Key Dates page.

Why am I getting a third party cookie error when I try to access my course evaluations?

There is a known issue where third party cookies are blocked by the Safari privacy feature in version 13. If you are on version 13 of Safari, you can try updating to newer version of Safari or you could try using the direct link (http://course-evaluations.stanford.edu) with either Chrome or Firefox. You could also try using either Chrome or Firefox to log into Canvas and follow the “Go To Survey” button on the pop-up notification when you sign in.
